Leadership

Professor Lalith Gamage | Managing Director

Professor Lalith Gamage, President and CEO of SLIIT, founded the institute in 1999 and was honoured with the TOYP Award for Academic Leadership in 2000. A respected academic and industry leader, he served in key government roles and contributes to organisations such as the lanka software foundation and SLASSCOM.

Holding a PhD from the University of British Columbia, his research spans computer vision, robotics, computational intelligence, and evolutionary computing. He is also an Adjunct Professor at both the University of British Columbia and Curtin University

Professor Mahesha Kapurubandara | Pro Vice-Chancellor – International

Professor Mahesha Kapurubandara is an accomplished researcher in ICT and an experienced higher education leader with expertise in internationalisation, transnational education, and strategic planning. She has established global partnerships and new campuses, and previously served as Dean, International at SLIIT and as a faculty member at Western Sydney University.

She has also taught at Upsala University, Sweden, and Nanjing University, China. Her research focuses on ICT for SMEs, women’s entrepreneurship, and business process management, with numerous publications to her credit. Professor Kapurubandara holds a PhD from Western Sydney University, a master’s degree from AIT, Thailand, and a BSc from the University of Colombo.

Uditha Gamage | Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Uditha Gamage bring over 20 years of experience in the education services industry, combining strong technical expertise with proven leadership in student engagement. He holds an MBA in Information Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.

Formerly the Chief Student Services and Outreach Officer at SLIIT, Mr. Gamage has led numerous student-centric initiatives, building supportive learning environments that enhance academic success and personal growth. His expertise in higher education management, outreach, and student services ensures Curtin University Colombo’s continued commitment to delivering quality education, inclusivity, and a transformative student experience.
